The Nicholas Deakins brand was born in 1991 when Craig Nicholas Tate set up the company that summer and went
onto sell 600 pairs of boots in just two weeks! After nearly seventeen years in the business Craig Nicholas Tate has
built up a loyal following in the UK who trust the brand to deliver every season.
People, food and travel are his inspiration, all of the above plus loads of determination and a grand flair for
design, have assisted Craig on his journey to create a multinational brand working with factories in many different
countries, distributing footwear and clothing worldwide. Craig said, ‘I have a low staff turnaround as I like to make
this an interesting and challenging place to work. I have positioned key people around me and given up a lot of
responsibility to enable me to travel and focus more on design.’ Thew plan is to grow the Nicholas Deakins brand
even further with the expansion on clothing over the next four years being key to raising brand awareness both
locally in the UK as well as globally.
